The Virginia Court Gardens
A Brief History of the Virginia Court
Situated in a tree-lined avenue just five minutes walk from the town centre, the cliffs, beach and pier, the Virginia Court was originally built at the very end of the 19th century, by Sir Samuel Hoare as a Club House for King Edward VII. The hotel exhibits the generous proportions which prevailed in that era, but the interior décor is more reminiscent of the light, airy clean lines favoured in Georgian architecture.
Our aim has always been to combine the high standards of service that would have been demanded over a hundred years ago with all the modern amenities expected in the 21st century.
Your Room
Most of our tastefully furnished 25 en-suite bedrooms have been recently refurbished and updated. Three are on the ground floor, a fact appreciated by anyone who has trouble with stairs. All rooms have colour television, a telephone, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. If you really want to indulge yourselves by combining the best of today with the luxury of yesterday, why not treat yourself to a stay in our King Edward VII suite? That's the one with the four-poster bed.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
